Last week, the nation was shocked to hear of two stories that would horrify anyone with a conscience. The first tells of Baby P murdered at the hands of those trusted to best look after him, his mother, her lover and their lodger. The second tells of Jael Mullings, who stabbed her two young sons to death and was later sectioned under the Mental Health Act. In both cases, public services officers, tasked with the duty of care for the children and their parents did not spot any sign of what was to happen. When everyone fails you, what do you do? Man is prone to failure but there is One who can never fail you! He is Jesus and is today asking you to trust Him with your life, will you?
~ A word for your week ~ Matt 11:28-30
Beloved, my heart was saddened by the two stories, particularly the story of Jael Mullings, a 21 year old mother of two, living without the children’s father and, I believe, struggling to look after these children on her own regardless of whatever help she may have had. Perhaps, the pressure of this huge responsibility was too much for her. Worse still, she has been sectioned. I think she may have lost everything she loved and worked so hard for. My question to you today is “are you struggling in any area of your life?” Our text encourages us to come to Him when we are tired and carrying heavy burdens because He promises us rest. God never intended for us to carry burdens that would tire us out and weigh us down. Lay aside the weight is what we are told in Heb 12:1. We must seek His help and His rest. Would you take Him up on His offer? I have and so have many others like me. He is faithful and can be trusted! To be continued…
~ Prophetic blast ~
As you begin a new week, I prophesy that…
Ø Your week shall be one of walking in God’s graces and mercies that make life easier and better
Ø God lighten your load and burdens
Ø The pressure of modern day living shall not stress, tire and depress you
Ø Because of Him that is in you, you shall overcome every external pressure trying to take you down
Ø You shall be counted among those that found rest in God!
Have a great week!
