Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! In just four days, we shall be in 2009! Happy New Year! So, how was your 2008? Did you set some goals you wanted to accomplish? Did you have any specific project you intended to complete in 2008? How did it go? Good or not so good? Regardless, of what your experience was, do not despair, especially if you have unaccomplished goals and uncompleted projects, God is graciously giving you more time to accomplish those goals and projects. Praise God for the New Year and happy New Year!

~ A word for your week ~ Eccl 9:11

Beloved, from our text, the race of life is not necessarily won because of one’s speed, strength, wisdom or understanding. Rather, we win because God gives us time for the race and creates opportunities for us during the race. 2009 is a new season in time in which I believe God will create for us opportunities that could be defining moments.  The point is God is giving us 2009, a new season, in time, for us to pursue the dreams and visions He has put inside of us. Destiny is in fulfilling God’s purpose and assignment for our lives and we need time to do so. That is why I praise God for the New Year, believing God that He will create for us those defining opportunities we need to fulfil His assignments. That is how I see 2009, but how do you see it? Is it another year to pursue your personal agendas? However you presently see 2009, I’d like to encourage you to approach it with God’s plan and purpose for your life foremost in your mind. God gives us time not necessarily for us to do what we like, but to do what He desires of us and when there is willingness to do so, He creates the opportunities that we need. That is why I say happy 2009 and hope you will recognise your God inspired moments or opportunities when they happen for you! I pray that 2009 will be a defining year for you! Happy New Year!!!

Merry Christmas

It is here again, upon us, Christmas! That time of the year when the whole world celebrate the birth of our soon coming King. While many celebrate a Christ that they do not know, we celebrate not just His birth but Him. Of course His birth means a lot to us but our celebration does not stop at His birth, it goes further to His life, death, burial, resurrection, ascension and His soon second coming! That is the reason I wish you a Christ-filled Christmas, today, tomorrow and until He returns! Merry Christmas!

~ A word for your week ~  John 3:16

Beloved, at Christmas time, one major tradition is the exchange of gifts. Our text says that “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”. God gave His only begotten Son as a gift to the world. His birth really is the first Christmas and that is why 2008 years later we are still giving and exchanging gifts. Every gift has a purpose to it. God’s gift of His Son is that the world through Him might be saved, and as many as would believe in Him shall be saved. Sadly, millions, I dare say, billions around the world celebrate Christmas but refuse the most important gift of all, the Christ. The true meaning of Christmas today should be a reminder of the eternal gift from God by which recipients can be saved. Yes, while we may go on holidays and indulge in other celebrations at Christmas time, it is all meaningless without the Christ of the Christmas. Christmas is about Him. No point in celebrating His birth and not inviting and having Him in your life. My encouragement to you today, is to make Jesus Christ the centre of your Christmas by receiving Him, the gift from God, into your life as Saviour and Lord! I have and so have billions around the world!

·         As you celebrate Him this season, many shall be drawn to Him!

·         Your season shall be filled God’s goodness, favours and blessings!

Thanksgiving 2008, what a service?

Last Sunday was a special one for us; it was our Thanksgiving 2008 celebration service. My gratitude to everyone for all their efforts and contributions to what was a very good service. My appreciation too to all our friends and family members that came to support and rejoice with us. The service was indeed glorious! The presence of the Lord was all over us. The praise and worship was awesome and the ministry of the word was simply the best! People gave generously and we had a great time afterwards at the reception. In all, our great God glorified His name, we were ministered to, and blessed at that, and had fun in church! Boy, I can’t wait for Thanksgiving 2009! Bring it on!

~ A word for your week ~ Matt 6:25-34

Beloved, our text this week encourages us not to worry or become anxious, particularly in these times of economic depression, about our lives regarding what we shall eat, drink or wear. The text boasts that God decorates nature with all its beauty, using the birds of the air that can neither sow nor reap and how God looks after them. By worrying we do not help matters and do not help ourselves. The text again uses the flowers of the field as an example. Flowers do not worry about whether they will grow or not, yet they grow easily and every where possible. But what is the key to all this for us? Verse 33 says for us to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness! We are not to be like the gentiles whose focus is the pursuit of these things. We are to make God and His kingdom our focus so that God will bring to us what the gentiles are busy pursuing. And guess what? God knows that we have need of these things, so be rest assured God knows the times we are in and as His own, He will look after us! We are more valuable than the birds and flowers! God will provide for us! Do not be of little faith, trust Him, He is able, dependable and very faithful!

Thanksgiving 2008

What is it and why are we doing it? Thanksgiving 2008 is about celebrating God’s goodness and faithfulness to us as His people. I don’t know about you, God has been good to me and my family and certainly kingdom Gospel Church. Where could we go and where would we be without Him? We have set aside today and specifically this service to thank Him for the many great things He has done, is doing now and will do for us tomorrow. Please join me and the many others here today to thank Him, He is worthy and deserves more that we can ever give Him!

~ A word for your week ~ Psalm 107:1-9

Beloved, our text this morning encourages us to give thanks to the LORD for He is good and His mercy endures forever, meaning His mercy has no limit, it is forever, eternal. ”Let the redeemed of the Lord say so” the text says and who are the redeemed? You and I.  And why should we say so? Because He has redeemed us from the hand, the grip or clutch of the enemy, who had us all over the place, with no direction or destiny, hungry, thirsty and fainting until God came and delivered us. He led us by the right way, gave us direction to a place of dwelling that He had prepared for us, a place called destiny! This is why verses 8 and 9 say “Oh that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.”
